I’ve been kindly invited to speak at the University of Birmingham’s Art History department about my current work in connection with my solo exhibition at Skissernas Museum, opening this June. The talk is free and open to all. Welcome!
Searching for the Fauna Within the Lund University Art Collection
Is there a “Museum Fauna” hidden within the Lund University art collection? How can we look for it? And how can artists write, perform, and exhibit this fauna? Join EvaMarie Lindahl as she shares her research and the results that will be featured in her upcoming exhibition.
This artist talk will share EvaMarie Lindahl’s ongoing journey towards a comprehensive solo exhibition at the Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art (SE). As part of the exhibition, she has been invited to create new readings of the Lund University art collections, placing non-human animals at the center. During the talk, she will explore the concept of “Museum Fauna,” a term she developed during her practice-based PhD project “Resistance within the Museum Fauna” (2022). This concept encompasses not only visual representations of non-human animals within the museum walls but also the layers of individual non-human animals trapped within the process of art production.
The talk will last for 45 minutes, with 30 minutes for questions afterwards. Refreshments will be available from 17:30
