The Drapes and the Drama

The Drapes And The Drama Act I-VIII (2009) is a visual investigation of the drapings in a few canonical paintings in western art history, mostly from the 17th century. The series contains a total of 8 graphite drawings in various sizes from 10 x 17cm to 50 x 30cm. The investigation started as a curious attempt to see if the scenography of an image is all that needs to be able to recognise and fill the white space with bodys. Is it possible to recognise the scenography of holiness, violence and power struggles?
